I always thought about riding a motorcycle across the country. You know, the freedom, wind in your face kind of thing you dream about as a youngster. Well that was as far back as 35 years ago when I didn't even have one to ride at the time. When my son moved to Portland Oregon a couple years ago, I thought what better excuse do I have than to do it to visit him. Then when I heard my friend Jerry was planning to ride to Sturgis SD this summer, I thought what better opportunity would I have to go, and have company for more than half the trip. So, with the support of my family, on or about July 31st, we will leave for Sturgis, South Dakota. (exactly who "we" are will be determined as we get closer to go time) As it stands now, its Jerry, James and myself, with the possibility of a couple others. My plan is to continue west after a couple days stay in Sturgis with those guys, and head to Portland OR, to visit my son Matt who lives there with his wife. The leg of the trip beyond Sturgis, will take me through Montana, Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, and some very scenic riding. I hope to be updating this Blog daily with Journal entries and pictures as long as my phone and Kindle Fire HD are up to the task since I'm not talking my laptop with me. This is the plan so far.
