Day 5

I would like to start out by extending kuddos to Larry Yeager, Owner of Yeagers Harley-Davidson in Sedalia, along with Dave, Melissa and all the others whose names I can't remember right now. I must say the people there at the dealership could not have been more accommodating or more friendly to us.
Even though the good news about James's new bike came before noon, we didn't pull out of the dealer until 2:40 PM because of paperwork, insurance and dealing with NJ division of motor vehicles.   By then it was 98°.  We were back on Rt. 50 and rode through Kansas City and into Kansas. We finally pulled info a Super 8 Motel at 730pm CST in Emporia Kansas.  One thing I have to say is that if you have never driven through the heartland, the vastness of the corn and soy fields is incomprehensible to someone from NJ.
We were really trying to make up for the lost time we spent in Sedalia by riding a little later than usual, so this post is late coming tonight.   Even with the late start, We were able to do 190 miles today.  That brings our total so far to 1474 miles.
James is talking to Mike, owner of the Wagon Wheel steak and crab.  Crabs in Kansas? I don't think so.
Hog Heaven motorcycle shop in Emporia Kansas. They were closed by the time we got there but luckily we didn't need a motorcycle shop anymore.
